White Collar Crime Defense

Michelman & Bricker, P.C.
Philadelphia White Collar Crime Lawyers

Protecting Your Business Interests and Your Rights

A criminal charge in state or federal court for a white collar crime can spell the end of a business career and the beginning of a lengthy prison sentence. We believe that the most effective way to defend against criminal charges is to make sure that they never get brought in the first place. In white collar crime cases such as Internet fraud, bribery, and illegal business practices, it's not uncommon for law enforcement to conduct a lengthy investigation before bringing charges. If you have been questioned about your business practices or suspect that you are under investigation, contact a defense lawyer immediately. The earlier you get one of our attorneys on your case, the sooner we can begin to protect your rights and to build a defense.

Early intervention can sometimes prevent charges from being filed, get charges being dropped, or lesser charges brought. We may be able to negotiate a plea bargain and probation instead of a trial and possible prison sentence. When we become aware that our clients are under investigation by a state or federal grand jury or law enforcement agency, we develop a pro-active strategy directed toward convincing them that criminal charges are inappropriate or unnecessary. If criminal charges become inevitable, we evaluate opportunities for early negotiations to reduce the potential charges that are brought, or their severity. Once criminal charges have been filed, we look for creative ways to resolve them with the minimum impact on our clients and their businesses. If you are faced with the threat of criminal charges for a business crime, financial crime, computer crime, or environmental crime, work with defense attorneys who understand how to negotiate and litigate effectively on your behalf.
